The site:
The Swam and Dolphin Hotels, Florida, Orlando

The brief:
To ensure all areas (inside, outside, permanent and temporary structures) had all the furniture and furnishings they needed.

All items had to selected, approved, ordered and placed ready for the event.

To build and manage relationships with peers, internal team and external suppliers to ensure the smooth delivery of the furniture and furnishings

To support and develop new members of the team

The challenge:
There were several challenges.

The arrival of a hurricane affected what areas where used and how they were used. Decisions had to be made quickly. We were at the mercy of the suppliers and their stock level (across the country) and also staffing levels.

Also, the hurricane the build time for the event – we had less time to set up and access the areas we needed to. Clear and precise planning was required to allow everyone access safely.

The event is an annual event, so trying to make the event look and feel different every year is a challenge. Spending time with the creative team looking a mood boards and colour charts was beneficial to assist sourcing new products for the team to consider.

The solution:
Having a strong relationship with peers, internal team members and suppliers ensures you support when decisions need to be made.
Keeping everyone informed of changes
Remaining positive even when there is a hurricane!
